Vintage hand-carved wooden folk mask likely originating from the Mayan Highlands of Guatemala. The mask features a long stylized face with geometric carved details and a fiber beard at the chin, possibly horsehair. The interior is deeply hollowed with visible tool marks and pierced eye openings, suggesting it was intended to be worn during traditional festival dances rather than made purely as decoration. Its rustic carving, aged patina, and expressive features give the piece a strong character often associated with “Viejo” figures in regional dance traditions.
