A beautiful vintage Japanese Kiyomizu-yaki ceramic bowl, hand-painted with vibrant peony flower motifs, has a rich glaze and fine craftsmanship, characteristic of Kyoto ware. The original gold sticker remains on the base confirming its origin. An impressed kiln/artist mark is also present.
Kiyomizu ware, is a highly regarded pottery tradition from Kyoto, Japan. It dates back over 400 years to the late 16th century, when the Japanese tea ceremony inspired artisans to create refined, elegant ceramics.Today, Kiyomizu-yaki remains a symbol of Kyoto’s cultural heritage and is highly collectible worldwide.
